At Basin Dentistry, we strive to meet the needs of our patients on an individual level when it comes to restorative dentistry. This means we work closely with patients to help them make informed decisions based on their specific needs.
In addition to our full and partial dentures, Basin Dentistry also offers implant-supported dentures. An implant-supported denture is a mixture of implants and dentures combined to make an overdenture. The overdenture is then supported and attached to an implant. A traditional denture rests on the gums and not supported by any structure, usually held in place with adhesive. Implant-supported dentures are used in situations where patients are missing all of their teeth, but have the substantial bone structure needed to support the addition of surgical implants. The overdenture has specific attachments that adhere to the attachments on the implant. Some patients will find the implant-supported dentures to be a better option for the lower jaw as dentures tend to be less stable in that area.
Basin Dentistry understands that implants, dentures and other restoration work is a sensitive situation. We want all of our patients to feel comfortable with their procedures and treatments. We will work hard to make sure your comfort is a priority and we listen to and address all of your concerns. As you consider your options for tooth replacement implant-supported dentures can offer a solution.
There are two types of implant-supported dentures: bar-retained dentures and ball-retained dentures.
