Laughing Gas
Laughing gas is a common form of sedation dentistry. We administer the gentle and sweet-smelling gas with a small mask placed over the nose. Laughing gas is often used to calm young patients and patients who experience dental anxiety during treatment. When combined with local anesthesia, laughing gas can put patients in a state of ease and relaxation. Laughing gas wears off quickly and allows the patient to drive home after treatments without lasting side effects.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral conscious sedation can make patients feel deeply relaxed and drowsy during their procedure. Patients will find the effects of oral sedation to be mild to moderate, depending on the dosage given. With this method, a prescription is given and must be taken an hour before treatment. A low dosage medication allows the patient to be fully awake, but very relaxed. Patients may experience some grogginess after treatment.
IV Sedation
IV sedation is a sedation method we can administer intravenously through a vein. It goes to work quickly and can be easily adjusted throughout your procedure depending on your needs.
